38th Street Farm

“I’m not a cook and would subsist on peanut butter toast if I could, but I realize that I need a bit more vitamins and minerals to stay healthy. In an effort to do that, I started experimenting with sprouts a few years back, and it has blossomed into a full-fledged microgreens operation. I now offer a variety of live harvested fresh microgreens, dehydrated microgreens, pet grass & microgreen pet treats!

It’s truly an honor to be trusted to feed members of my community and I take my responsibility as a food provider very seriously. Farmers markets are my happy place, and it brings me a lot of joy to be able to meet people and share my products with them.”

What: Delicious and nutrient-packed micro greens including sunflower, broccoli, speckled pea, and spicy salad mix! Plus a rotating ‘crop of the week’ featuring purple kohlrabi, radish, mustard, cilantro, beets & more.

When & Where: Find Erin and Tammy on Chicago Ave part-time this month (September 20th) & full-time in October

Enchanted Gardens of Minnesota

“I think I was always destined to adopt a large family of creatures. I run a closed loop operation – minimal inputs from outside of my own production. I grow thousands of flowers, vegetables, herbs and fruits! Each animal provides multiple functions and value added products. I oversee every aspect of my farm to ensure quality and provide the labor, growing hard to find heirloom varieties from seeds each season and preserving the heritage breeds listed above.

In the last five years I went from farming in my own back yard, to a 2-acre rental, and FINALLY I closed on 30 acres in Farmington. Raw land, I need to bring in everything from electricity and water to fencing and building my new dairy parlor! But I am so excited that I was able to find this perfect patch and make my big dreams bigger. I am very excited to be a part of this market and supported by like minded people. I also offer CSAs that can be picked up at MCFM!”

What: Products include fruits and vegetables, herbs, honey, jam, cut flowers, goat & sheep cheeses, milk & butter, eggs (duck, quail & chicken), fridge pickles and sauerkraut (all seasonal).

When & Where: Find Jamie every Saturday on Chicago Ave between 2nd St and Washington

Solace Artisan Breads

Solace got their start at the Shoreview Farmers Market three years ago, but head baker Cesar has been baking professionally since 2011 and has always dreamed of starting his own business. His partner, Kailleen, has been essential to this journey, and is an inspiration in many ways. She manages the administrative side and helps with sales at the market, all while they both work full-time jobs in addition to Solace. Kailleen is a first-generation Mexican-American and Cesar is an immigrant.

“Family values and big dreams are at the heart of Solace. We hope to continue growing Solace year by year and share our products with everyone at every market we attend. As Sancho Panza said in Don Quixote, “los duelos con pan son menos” – at Solace, we believe you can find comfort in every bite! Everything is handmade from scratch, without preservatives or conditioners, for our household and yours. Our love for baked goods is genuine! A huge thank you to the MCFM community for the incredibly warm welcome we’ve received so far.”

What: Find a variety of different types of freshly baked breads, babkas, pastries and more.

When & Where: Find Kaileen every Saturday on Chicago Ave

Kisheri Farms

“We grow the vegetables that we grew up cultivating and eating in Cameroon/West Africa. When we moved to Minnesota in the 1990’s, we continued to garden here and grow our traditional vegetables. I love gardening, growing my own food, feeding my family and community. We could not find fresh West African vegetables in the grocery stores so in 2020, we started growing more vegetables in our Roseville backyard and sharing and selling them to our friends. In 2023 we started our business, growing on a larger scale and learning more about farming in Minnesota. We have attended numerous workshops, conferences, and trainings to learn more about organic farming.”

Kisheri Farms is owned and operated by Relyndis and Marius Tegomoh. What started as an urban farm to grow traditional food crops in 2020 has evolved into the purchase of a 7-acre organic farm in Kenyon, MN to continue growing organic plants, culturally relevant produce, pastured eggs and chickens! Their mission is to learn and share how to grow nutritionally dense food using sustainable and regenerative practices for small and medium scale farms.

What: Culturally relevant vegetables like sweet potato greens, njamma njamma, waterleaf, bitter leaf, okra, pumpkin leaves, African eggplant and amaranth plus tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, lettuce, herbs & more.

When & Where: Find Marius and Relyndis every Saturday inside the Train Shed on the left hand side

The Orange Roaster

The Orange Roaster is a small family-owned street food business, started in 2024 but rooted in years of passion for farming, food, and community. Before launching his own pop-up stand, Oleg spent many seasons working in agriculture and representing a local farm at the Minneapolis Farmers Market. He fell in love with the energy of the market and the warm spirit of the city—it always felt like home.

Later, he started his own flower farm back in Ukraine, where he is originally from. But when the war forced him to leave, he returned to his second home—the U.S.—and began a new chapter. That’s how The Orange Roaster was born! Using a custom-built roasting machine, they make State Fair-style corn on the cob, fast and fresh. They also offer roasted sweet potatoes, Esquites (Mexican-style corn bowls), and cold, fresh-squeezed lemonades, perfect for hot days at the market.

What: Delicious locally grown and roasted corn and sweet potatoes, plus fresh lemonade.

When & Where: Find Oleg now through October 4th on Chicago Avenue near Red Wolf Chai

Sun-Kissed Farm

“We are a small second generation family farm located in Becker, producing a diverse variety of vegetables to meet the needs of our community. Connecting directly with consumers is extremely important to us because we enjoy getting to know our customers and being able to bring a smile to their face! Farming is also a way of going back to my (Xor’s) roots. My parents farmed for a living when I was growing up in Laos, and now here in the U.S. today. When I was growing up I helped out on the farm all the time but didn’t enjoy it much. Once I grew older, I began enjoying being on the farm because it brought me a sense of peace and happiness. It brings me great joy knowing that I locally grow vegetables for my family and the community.

We are passionate about sharing the health benefits of our produce and giving customers tips on how to cook. Our whole goal is to uplift people through food and nutrition — we love to teach others how they can nourish themselves and even grow their own food so that they can be self sustainable, too. Each item we produce is grown with care and respect for the environment. We implement practices like crop rotation, cover cropping, and reduced tillage to maintain soil fertility, prevent erosion, and support biodiversity. Produce loses nutrients over time after being harvested, so we always harvest as close to market as possible so your food will contain the most nutrients and stay fresh for longer!”

What: jicama, passionfruit, kohlrabi, lemongrass, amaranth, chayote leaf, papaya leaf, pumpkin leaf, daikon, baby bok choy, Chinese spinach, cabbage, cucumber, zucchini, Brussels sprouts, winter melon, watermelon, bitter lemon, cauliflower, broccoli, beets, basil, mint, green onion, red & yellow onion, garlic, carrots, green beans, long bean, hot pepper, bell pepper, corn, squash, pumpkin, kale, fresh flowers & more.

Naked Tree Bakery

“Growing up, I learned all the best family stories and wisdom while making and eating cookies. My elders supported me in perfecting their favorite recipes and experimenting with my own, so baking became my sacred time with them and my sacred alone time on stressful days. When my body decided it was done eating gluten, dairy, and eggs in 2018, I was sad for a while and then got busy experimenting again.

MCFM has been my home market since I moved to Minneapolis in 2014. I’ve gotten to see how the market lives its values and tries to use its resources and people to strengthen the entire local food ecosystem, and I can’t imagine baking in any way that doesn’t do the same. It’s kind of a scary thing to start a small food business, and especially one that caters to gluten free and vegan folks, so starting at MCFM means I’ll at least be around vendors and staff who support each other and customers who are excited to try new things!”

What: All of my baked goods are free of gluten*, dairy, and eggs. I keep telling people they come with no judgement either because (1) they use honey and maple syrup instead of sugar whenever possible and (2) no baked good should ever induce shame or judgement, no matter how sugary. Life is hard sometimes, and humans get to enjoy baked goods even on the easy days. Got allergies? Please note that all baked goods currently share equipment with wheat, nuts, and soy. Ingredient lists will be available at each market, and please ask about any concerns, even if things are busy! Self-advocacy takes practice – let’s practice together.

When & Where: Find Allyson inside the Train Shed on September 20th & October 11th
