We've teamed up with the Italian Cultural Center to bring you the sites, smells and sounds of Italy!
Mill City Tastes: Squash!
9am-1pm (while supplies last): Join our partners from the University of Minnesota for samples and tips on selecting, preparing and storing this nutritious summer treat!
Cooking Demo:
10am, The Italian Cultural Center teams up with the local Mill City Market vendors to put together simple summer snacks and meals made with the protagonists of the season: tasty tomatoes and luscious eggplants. Your Italian interpreters in the Mill City Kitchen will be Kishori Koch (a Minneapolis native and long time Venice/Florence resident) and Lorenzo Torregrossa who will be firing up his wood burning oven to serve up some Sicilian spirit, pasta and pizza.
Live Music:
11am – 1pm, Locally acclaimed, globally appreciated guitarist/singer Robert Everest and friends will share their love for Italian popular music.
Mill City Museum
10am - 5pm
For Kids: Splash in the museum’s water lab, explore the interactive exhibits and nose around in the Bake lab.
See the film, "Minneapolis in 19 Minutes Flat", a whirlwind tour of our fair city, written by and starring local humorist, playwright and radio personality Kevin Kling. The show plays every 30 minutes and is included in museum admission.
